Welcome to Dafi's "Bone Appetit" section, where Los Angeles's most discerning palate (and sassiest local reporter) brings you the inside scoop on the city's best bites and brews. Forget the usual Michelin stars- Dafi's ratings are based on the quality of the pup-cup, the friendliness of the patio, and the gossip overheard during a long, lazy lunch.

Ashland Hill — Where the Food’s Fancy and the Tails Never Stop Wagging
Located just a short trot from the beach, this charming spot knows exactly how to treaits four-legged guests — with a dog menu so sophisticated, you’ll think you booked a tasting reservation.
From beef over rice, chicken and rice, pup-friendly ice cream, their pup offerings are nothing short of pawlicious. And the staff? Absolute pros at delivering belly rubs with your beverage.
The patio is a pup dream — breezy, leafy, and filled with friendly faces (and noses). Whether you’re basking in the sun or working hard on “reporting” the latest brunch gossip, this is the perfect spot for both humans and hounds.
Pup Tip: Bring your appetite and your charm — one head tilt and you might score an extra treat.
Location: 2807 Main St, Santa Monica, CA

Rock & Brews — Where Every Pup’s a Rock Star
Rock & Brews isn’t just for music lovers — it’s for the four-legged VIPs too!
From the moment you step (or strut) onto their patio, the vibe is pure rock ‘n’ roll meets pup paradise. They’ve got plenty of space for wagging tails, water bowls ready on cue, and staff who greet you like you’re headlining the festival. And while your human enjoys their cold brews and comfort bites, you’ll be soaking in the sun, the tunes, and the endless compliments. (Seriously — these people get me.)
The atmosphere is fun, casual, and full of friendly faces. You’ll meet other dogs living their best life — because at Rock & Brews, every dog is a rockstar.
Pup Tip: Bring your coolest bandana and your best “I’m with the band” strut. You never know who might ask for a paw-tograph.
Location: 143 Main St, El Segundo, CA
Dafi’s Rating: ★★★★★ (for rockin’ vibes, friendly staff, and tail-wag energy)
Monty’s Dog Beach & Bar
If sunshine, salty air, and dog-friendly fun are your vibe, then Monty’s Beach Bar is the place to be!
Just steps away from Rosie’s Dog Beach, this spot is a total win for pups and their people alike. After an exhilarating romp in the surf, I trotted straight over for some much-deserved reporting and relaxing, of course).
The beach bar ambiance is everything pup would d want — ocean breeze, chill tunes, sandy paws, and friendly faces who never say no to giving a good ear scratch. But the real showstopper? Their dog obstacle course — a sandy playground built just fous four-legged visitors!
While humans sip on tropical drinks and soak up the seaside energy, us pups get to socialize, show off our moves, and maybe sneak a fry or two if no one’s looking. It’s basically paradise with a paw-print stamp of approval.
Pup Tip: Come early to snag a shady spot and enjoy some pup-watching before the lunch rush. It’s the perfect post-beach hangout for water-loving canines and their humans!
Location: 143 Main St, El Segundo, CA
Dafi’s Rating: ★★★★★ (for wave crushing views and just steps from Rosie's Dog Beach)
